Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Due to construction, we will begin the year with many updates to our arrival and dismissal procedures. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these new procedures the first days of school. Please read throughout this document carefully.

The campus doors will be open from 7:20 - 7:40 am. If you drop off after 7:40 (with exception to first few days), please park and walk your child to the front door.

Unless arriving/leaving on a bus, all students will be dropped off in the morning and picked up in the afternoon in the front loop of the school.

NISD buses and daycare buses will be dropped off/picked up at the back of the school.

Please be mindful that this will cause congestion on Tierra Vista Way, Wagley-Robertson, Evening View and likely some neighborhood streets. Please be mindful and follow all staff guidance to ensure safe and efficient arrival and dismissal for our students.

Car Line Procedures

Always follow the directions of staff members while moving into, within, and out of the circle.
Please enter the lane based on your entrance road as indicated in the photo.
All lanes will make a right turn out of the school circle loop.
No students can be dropped off or picked up along the curbs of Tierra Vista Way.
Display your dismissal card on your front dash. Ensure any person coming to pick up your child has the dismissal card.

Important Notes

Please ensure all vehicles are stopped before your child exits the car. However, they may exit your vehicle even if there is not a student or staff member available to open the door for them. This will allow our car line to be a faster, more efficient experience for everyone involved.
It is also important that your child is ready to exit the vehicle when you pull up to the drop off zone. Have their backpack and lunchbox ready so they can quickly exit the vehicle.
Just a reminder, our Nance staff cannot buckle your child into or out of their safety seat or seat belt. When moving through the car line, students will need to buckle in and out of their seats independently. If you need to buckle your child in after they are loaded in the afternoon car line, please do not get out of the car to do so while in the loading zone. We limit the amount of adults not in a vehicle to our Nance staff. With many moving cars in the area, we want to keep things running as safely as possible. Thank you for understanding!

Walkers

Students will be assigned to a walking group color that corresponds with the corner that leads to their destination. Please ensure your child(ren) know which direction they need to walk home.

If your child is in PreK, Kinder, or First grade (without an older sibling), please be sure to meet them at their dismissal corner. If no parent/guardian is at the corner, the child will be brought back to the front office and will need to be picked up there.

Bus Riders

NISD buses and daycare buses will be dropping off at the back of the school in the morning and staff will meet them there.

Riders will receive a bus tag during the first day of school that will be on their backpack. These cards will be used to scan on and off the bus each time they ride. This will allow your child's driver to keep an accurate log of who is on the bus at a given time and will allow you to track when your child gets on and off the bus. Dismissal Changes

If you need to make a change to the way your child will be going home, please complete THIS FORM which can be found on our campus website as soon as possible. For the safety of all students, all early dismissals must be done by 2:30 p.m.
