Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Arrival Procedures

*All car riders will be dropped off in the back of the building. The doors will be open from 7:20 a.m. to 7:40 a.m. If you drop off any later than 7:40am, Please do so in the front of the school, PARK and WALK your child to the front doors.  We understand that there will be times you are in a hurry, but staff will be back in the building at 7:40 to start class and will not be available to supervise students walking up to the building. For the safety of all students, please do not drive through the front to drop off your child unless it is after 7:40 a.m.

*We will have Safety patrol and staff members helping to unload cars each morning.  There will be times when these staff members are supporting other students.  Please allow your child to go ahead and exit your vehicle even if there is not a student or staff member available to open the door for them.  This will allow our car line to be a faster, more efficient experience for everyone involved.

*It is also important that your child is ready to exit the vehicle when you pull up to the drop off zone.  Have their backpack and lunchbox ready so they can quickly exit the vehicle.

*Bus Riders and walkers will enter through the front of the building.

*We will have staff members at each location greeting students and ensuring that they enter the building safely.

*If you wish to walk your child to the front door of the school, you will need to park in a designated parking space in front of the campus, NOT along the fire lane.

Dismissal Procedures

If you do not have a car rider tag, you will be asked to drive around to the front of the building and check your child out through the front office.

*Buses, daycare and walkers will be released from the front of the building at 3:05 p.m.

*If your child is a walker and cannot walk home on their own or with a sibling, please be sure to meet them at their dismissal point.  If your child is Pre-K through Kindergarten, and there is not someone to walk home with them, they will be brought back to the front office and will be available to pick them up there.

Car Seats and Safety Belts
Just a reminder, our Nance staff cannot buckle your child into or out of their safety seat or seat belt.  When moving through the car line, students will need to buckle in and out of their seats independently.  If you need to buckle your child in after they are loaded in the afternoon car line, please do not get out of the car to do so while in the loading zone.  Pull into one of our parking spots directly after the loading zone and exit the vehicle to buckle your child.  We limit the amount of adults not in a vehicle to our Nance staff.  With many moving cars in the area.  We want to keep things running as safely as possible.  Thank you for understanding!

Bus Riders

Our bus riders will come home with some extra hardware on their backpack.  Their bus card will be used to scan on and off the bus each time they ride.  This will allow your child’s driver to keep an accurate log of who is on the bus at a given time and will allow you to track when your child gets on and off of the bus.  More information was sent to your email from our transportation department.  If you have any questions in regards to the new system, reach out to our front office and they will get you in contact with our transportation department.

Be sure to check in  Home Access Center beginning August 8 for route information. Please remember to check again the week school starts, as routes may change because of our enrollment growth closer to the first day of school. Please do not rely on route information from 2024-2025, as enrollment increases have affected routes. Additionally, please be sure to download the Smart Tag app to track your child's bus.
